主要致力于活性炭與碳纖維等炭材料的相關研究。在炭材料的制備、表征和應用等方面取得了豐碩的研究成果和積累了豐富的實踐經驗。在炭材料結構和表面化學的調控等方面提出了一些開創性的理論依據與技術思路。并開發了一系列性能優異的炭材料,在能源材料、環境防護與治理等方面的應用取得了優異的性能。其研究成果受到國內外同行的廣泛關注,在國際著名學術期刊上發表了十多篇學術論文,其中包括Carbon、Langmuir、Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry、Fuel Processing Technology等期刊,以及申請了3項相關專利;多次參加國際、國內的重要學術會議作特邀報告;主持和參與多項國家自然科學基金和企業共同研究的相關科研項目。
