This course will be a general survey of ancient thought and culture in Greek and Roman World. The concept of Western thought and culture roughly encompasses the poetic, medical, legal, scientific, philosophical, and theological literature of classical world. The figures and schools we shall be
discussing will be Homer, the naturalist movement, Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, the Stoics, the Epicureans, and the early Christianity. This course is designed as a general elective course, open to all the undergraduate students who are interested in exploring the beginning of the western culture in English
